    A $1,000 scholarship in the name of former Darlington School Superintendent Howard Friske and his wife Sally, is being offered to one male and one female graduating senior at Darlington High School. An essay (500-1500 words) on one of the following topics is required: 1.) What an incoming freshmen can look forward to when attending Darlington High School. 2.) What the candidate looks forward to be doing ten years after graduation and why. The student's class rank, GPA, grades earned in English department courses, co-curricular activities, financial need and quality of the essay will be considered.

Preference is to be given to an individual planning a college or vo-tech major or area of study that involves pursuing a career in a conservation related field, i.e., soil conservation, wildlife management or fisheries preservation and management, natural resources management or preservation , soils, or waste water treatment or management.     This scholarship has been established in memory of Aric Douglas by his family. Aric passed away in January of 2010 at the age of 32. Aric was a graduate of Darlington High School in 1996 where he played football. Aric was a very dedicated, hard-working, honest, family- man. He had a love for the outdoors and horses. The family is giving away 2 - $500 dollar scholarships to help keep the memory of Aric alive.

    Greenco Industries Foundation will consider offering two $750 or one $1,500 scholarship(s) to a high school or college student concentrating within the professional field of Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, Counseling or a related field. The student must be seeking a degree or certificate which would result in their being qualified to work with persons with disabilities. Other requirements shall include: The student will be attending a Wisconsin Institute, Academic achievement, and a permanent resident of either Green or Lafayette county. Candidates shall have attended a public school in either or both counties. The recipient shall be eligible to work for Greenco Industries a minimum of 320 hours during summer, spring or othe breaks at or above minimum wage for at least two years.

    The Thomas B. Jones and Grace Stevenson Jones Charitable Foundation awards academic scholarships to students from Grant, Iowa & Lafayette Counties, Wisconsin. Since 1989, the Foundation has awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships to deserving students in order to assist them in pursuing higher education. These scholarship funds are administered by First Midwest Bank, a northern Illinois based bank with branches throughout Illinois, Indiana and Iowa.

    "He took an inch and gave a mile". This scholarship has been established in the memory of Kurt Siegenthaler, a Darlington High School and University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate. Kurt participated in football, basketball, track and baseball at DHS and was an avid sports fan. He epitomized the spirit and meaning of the term "team player" his entire life. The Sieg Foundation consists of friends and family of Kurt whose goal is to raise funds for local charities and community projects in the memory of his name. Two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female graduating senior at Darlington High School. This applicant must pursue a bachelor's degree from a higher education. They must have participated in high school athletics and demonstrate a positive attitude as a team player.

    Two $350 Citizenship Awards will be given to graduating seniors planning to attend a college or vocational school. The recipients need a good school and community record reflected by the willingness to follow rules and cooperate with those in authority. Being a good role model, working to potential, and being active in school/community events are important.

    Darlington United Methodist Women Scholarship
    The Darlington UMW awards at least one $200.00 scholarship to a graduating Darlington United Methodist Church Senior who is going on to school. To apply for the scholarship, please submit a letter to include the following: Tell us about yourself, Brag! Include your academic achievements and participation in extra-curricular activities and school-related organizations, as well as your activity in church programs. What are your plans after graduation, i.e. where are you going to school and what are you planning on studying? What will you do with your degree when you graduate? Please be sure to make special note of church activities you have participated in, volunteer work you have done and any special awards or recognition you have received. Preference will be given to those who have actively participated in the Church. The deadline for applying is April 12th. The UMW will select the scholarship recipient during their April or May meeting. The scholarship is awarded for use during your second semester of school. If you are the winner of the scholarship, you will be contacted. The scholarship will be presented during the DHS Awards Day Ceremony. After providing verification of your enrollment in second semester classes, the scholarship will be awarded to you.
